Jen Bonnell is a 18 year veteran of the New York City publishing world, and has worked as an editor in book publishing since 1997, specializing in children’s and young adult publishing since 1999.

Formerly executive editor at Penguin Random House (Puffin Books and Speak), Jen has acquired, developed, and edited numerous books and series, including the New York Times bestsellers Let It Snow by Maureen Johnson, Lauren Myracle and John Green; the New York Times bestselling Stranded and Stranded: Shadow Island series by Jeff Probst and Chris Tebbetts; Challenge Yourself, a non-fiction series by Jeff Probst; the Sweep series by Cate Tiernan; the Emily Bunny lift-the-flaps by Claire Masurel and Susan Calitri; young adult and middle grade titles by Robin Palmer, Janet Fox, Kieran Scott and others.

In addition to original publishing, Jen has also shepherded hundreds of other titles through the paperback publishing process, developed backlist projects and publishing, and managed major authors and brands in both Puffin and Speak.  She has also written several fiction and nonfiction titles for children, licensed and under her own name. She specializes in middle grade and young adult novels and non-fiction.

Jen is the author of DIY Girl, a craft book for tweens, and is an avid knitter, spinner, and potter. While she can write cover and flap copy like nobody’s business, she still can’t spell worth a darn. She lives in the New York City area with her husband and two sons.
